Dielectric High Reflective Coating
The reflective coating and anti-reflective coating are almost equally important. For reflection systems in optical instruments, the characteristics of metallic mirror generally meet common requirements. In some applications, the metallic mirror can be used to achieve higher reflectivity. The dielectric multilayer reflective coatings have been widely used in laser applications and some high demand systems due to their maximum reflectivity and minimum absorption.

Metallic Mirror
The metallic mirror has the characteristics of low peak transmittance, poor mechanical stability, and low damage threshold. However, the metallic mirror has a very wide reflection band from near ultraviolet to far infrared, and are insensitive to polarization state and incident angle. To prevent oxidation of the metal film layer, we deposit a dielectric coating between the metallic coating and the substrate, and then deposit another dielectric coating outside the metallic coating.
Characteristics of metallic reflective mirror:
The wavelength range is from near ultraviolet, visible light to far-infrared, it is insensitive to polarization state and incident angle, with low damage threshold, and cannot be used in high-power lasers.
Characteristics of three types of metallic reflective mirror:
The gold plated mirrors have high reflectivity in infrared spectra, high chemical stability in air, and are not easily oxidized. It can still maintain good reflectivity and spectral characteristics in harsh environments. The silver plated mirrors have high reflectivity in visible and near-infrared light, and have good scratch resistance and firmness after being coated with a protective coating. The aluminum plated mirrors have high reflectivity in ultraviolet and visible light. After being coated with a protective coating, the surface is not easily scratched and can be wiped.
Our UV aluminum plated mirrors is an economical and efficient solution for UV applications. Due to the softness and susceptibility to damage of bare aluminum coating, we have coated two layers of protective coating on the aluminum surface to extend the service life. Our UV UV aluminum plated mirrors has a reflectivity of over 90% in the wavelength range of 250 to 450 nm.
