Calcium fluoride (CaF2) crystals have the advantages of wide light transmission range (good light transmission in the wavelength range of 0.13μm~10μm), low stress birefringence (no obvious intrinsic birefringence above 200nm), uniform refractive index, stable mechanical properties, no deliquescence, and strong resistance to irradiation damage, etc., which is an ideal material for the production of various types of optical windows, prisms, and lenses, and other optical components. The maximum diameter of CaF2 crystals that can be obtained at present is 375mm.
